The former personal attorney for Donald Trump has resigned as the chief federal prosecutor in the state. This comes after a legal ruling that questioned her legal standing to occupy the role.
Attorney General's Statement
The nation's top law enforcement official, Pam Bondi, announced her stepping down on Monday. She commented that the appeals court finding made it unworkable for the official to lead the department effectively.
"Do not interpret following the order as giving up," Habba stated. "My fight will now reach across America."

Her resignation was triggered by a judicial panel determined that she had been acting without proper authority as US attorney. This ruling is could influence many legal proceedings in the state.
The judicial panel said that a temporary posting that skirted confirmation by the US Senate violated the Federal Vacancies Reform Act.
